- if the current flowing through the wire divides then the resistors are in parallel
- if current doesn't divides and a single current flows through all the resistors then the resistors are connected in series.

Hi friend!
If the resistors are joined end to end such that the same current flows through each resistor, it is called series connection.
If the resistors are connected between two common points such that each resistor provides a separate path for current to flow, it is called parallel connection.
