1] Divide that my divisor, ignoring the remainder
put the whole number result above the line [ part of answer]

2] multiply that whole number result by divisor
put that below what u just worked on

3] subtract bring down the next digit to create a new value to work on

repeat, using the new value

The number which divides the other number is known as divisor.
