In the figure angle BAC is equal to angle ACD because AB ll CD and AC is a transversal

Angle BAC = angle ACD = 60°
Now we have angle BCD
angle BCA + Angle ACD = Angle BCD
angle BCD = 60° + 40°
==> 100°
angle CDE = angle BCD = 100°
x° = angle CDE = 100°
