Two coins are tossed

S = { (H, T) , ( T, H) , (T, T) , (H, H) }

n (S) = 4

Let A be the event that both coins tossed will land tails up

A = { ( T, T) }

n (A) = 1

therefore P (A) = n(A) /n (S)

= 1/4

therefore the probability that both coins

will land tails up is 1/4
