Length of the box formed = 48 - 2*8

= 48 - 16

= 32 cm

Width of the box formed = 36 - 2*8

= 36 - 16

= 20 cm

Height of the box = 8 cm

Volume = Length *Width *Height

= 32 * 20 * 8

= 640*8

= 5120 cm^3

Given the length of the metallic sheet = 48cm.

Given that breadth of the metallic sheet = 36cm.

Given that height = 8cm.

Given that from each corner a square of 8cm is cut off. Therefore from the sheet for two sides, a total of 16m(8 + 8) has to be subtracted.

Length = 48 - 16

             = 32m.

Breadth = 36 - 16

               = 20m.

Therefore volume of the box = l * b * h

                                                 = 32 * 20 * 8

                                                 = 5120m^3.

Therefore the volume of the box = 5120cm^3.

Hope this helps!
