• Mirage is an optical illusion observed in deserts and roads on hot days. It occurs due to the phenomenon of total internal reflection of light. On hot summer days the air near the ground become warmer than the air just above it. So the density of upper layer air will be higher than the lower.

• Mirage is like an optical illusion formed due to the total internal reflection. This happens when a light beem bends. For example, we see mirages like water ponds in a hot day in a desert. When light travel through the atmosphere from cooler to warmer it bends due to the change in the speed of light in the space and of the earth. This is what happens!! This is why we see these mirages and this happens when the hot air near the ground is touched by the light.
