it should be in such a way that the product of first term and last term shuold be equal to product of the terms came after spliting the middle term.
For example:
36x-21y+3z
36x-9y-12y+3z [here (9)(12)=(36)(3) and -9y-12y=(-21y)]

Spilting the middle term mtlb hota hai ki jo beech wale no ke side Mai jo no hote h agar hum in dono no ko multiply kre toh middle term ko kch iss tarah split krna hoga ki uska addition Hume beech wala no de and multiply krne par woh side ke dono no ka jo multiply krne se jo answer aaya tha woh uske equal ho.
Example :2x^2+3x+1
Toh isse solve krne par side ke dono no Ka multiplication jo bhi hoga woh beech ke no ko jb split krege toh uske multiplication ke equal hoga and uska addition Hume beech ka no as it is dega....
Solution
2x^2 + 2x+x+1
(2x^2 + 2x)+1(x+1)
2x(x+1)+1(x+1)
(2x+1)(x+1)
