Lets take example:

2/3 and 8/7

Addition:

2/3 + 8/7

Take lcm of denominators rhat is 3 and 7

The denominator of those both us 21.

Make both denominator as 21.

2*7/3*7

And

8*3/7*3

Addition now is

14/21 plus 24/21 add the neumirator and let the denominator be 21.

Which is 38/21

Subtraction is same but at last you do 14-24 instead.

Multiplication:

2/3*8/7

=2*8/3*7

=16/21

Division :

2/3 / 8/7

=

Take reciprocal of 8/7 and multiply

= 2/3*7/8

=14/24
