●You start with your 8 cm diagonal. Take your compass and set the radius greater than half the diagonal, ie., greater than 4.
●This is because you are
now going to draw 2 arcs, centres located at each end of the diagonal, that
will intersect in 2 points, each above the middle of the diagonal.

join the 2 points you will have constructed the right bisector of the diagonal.
●You will extend your right bisector in both directions equally so that it is now
