steps:

i)draw a straight line ( horizontal)

ii)draw an angle of 90°

iii) keep compasses on the right arc from which 90°was formed

iv) cut an arc

v) keep compasses on the horizontal line where the arc if 90° was taken and cut an arc

vi) join the arc to 90°'s point

40° angle is formed
