Q) How to identify the gender of a betta fish ?

• It is very easy to identify the gender of a betta fish compared to other aquarium fishes out there.

• Male betta fish are very beautiful compared to the female betta fish. It is somewhat like the case of peacocks the peacocks which are the males are more beautiful than the peahen which is the female.

• To identify a male betta fish we need to see wether it has long fins and beautiful fins. Males have longer fins than that of the females.

• Male betta fish make bubble nests which can be noticed in the top of your aquarium. What do I mean by bubble nests ? They are small bubbles which is made by using the enzymes of the male betta fish it is where the female betta fish will lay the eggs after mating. The fry remain in the bubble nests. Also betta fish who make bubble nests is an indication that it is very happy with the home you have provided for it.

• In case your betta fish does not make bubble nests does it mean it is female no it may not be happy with the aquarium you have provided this happens if you provide a small bowl for its home it won't feel like making bubble nests or maybe your fish is sick if a male betta fish is sick it would not make bubble nests. Keep a regular check in your tank to see if it is making bubble nests if it is then it is a male if not it is a female.

• To identify a female betta fish they have small fins compared to the male betta fish they are not as beautiful as male betta fish.

• Female betta fish do not make bubble nests. Check the belly of your betta fish if it is enlarged then it can be a female betta fish.

• By using all these signs we can identify whether our  betta fish is male or female.

its soo easy how i identified my four bettas .

i even made them breed and it went on sucess. but atlast the female betta ate the eggs .
