How to exlpain rainwater is slightly acidic?

The air around us (atmosphere) has different gases like nitrogen (79%), oxygen (21%), carbon dioxide (0.33%). The small percentage of CO2 has an important role to play in the acidic nature of rain water.

When it rains the CO2 present in air reacts with rain water to form carbonic acid (H2CO3) which is a weak acid. due to formation of the acid the pH of rain water is 5.6 (means it is acidic). The reaction is given below.

CO2 + H2O ----------> H2CO3
