Answer:

ROM stands for Read Only Memory. Unlike RAM(Random Access Memory) it is  non-volatile memory which means the data stored in ROM cannot be Erased automatically when power shuts down. But in RAM the data will be erased automatically when the power supply fails.

TYPES:

MROM - Masked ROM .

PROM - Programmable Read Only Memory.

EPROM - Erasable and Programmable Read Only Memory .

EEPROM - Electrically Erasable and Programmable Read Only Memory.

ROM also known as Program memory in Microprocessors and microcontrollers.
