a+b can't be factorised coz for factorisation we need something to be common eg. 2a+2b, here 2 is common in both the terms so we can factorise it like this 2(a+b). And now a+b cannot be further factorised here.

1*a+1*b = 1(a+b)
coz whenever a term comes like that, it can be multiplied by 1
