the formula for average velocity is =total displacement/time taken.
so consider the displacement to be s.
now s/3 is covered with velocity 10 m/s. so time taken is (s/3)/10=s/30.
second s/3 displacement is covered with velocity 20m/s,so time= s/60.
similarly third time=s/90.
so total time=s/30 + s/60 + s/90=6s+3s+2s/180.
now average velocity= s/(11s/180)=180/11=16.36m/sec.
so consider the displacement to be s.
now s/3 is covered with velocity 10 m/s. so time taken is (s/3)/10=s/30.
second s/3 displacement is covered with velocity 20m/s,so time= s/60.
similarly third time=s/90.
so total time=s/30 + s/60 + s/90=6s+3s+2s/180.
now average velocity= s/(11s/180)=180/11=16.36m/sec.
