BMI ( Body Mass Index) is defined as ratio of mass [weight (in kg)] and square of height (in m) of an individual.

Weight ( in kg)
BMI = -----------------------
[Height (in m)]^2

# For Example :
---------------------

Let a person have

$ weight = 80 kg

$ height = 1.6 m

Now,

80 kg
BMI = ---------------
(1.6 m)^2

80 kg
=--------------
2.56 m^2

= 31.25

*The above person falls in class - 1 Category of obesity.

hey mate..!

Full form of BMI is Body Mass Index .

The BMI is a person's weight (kg) divided by his/her height (metre).

According to WHO (World Health Organization ) , a person's BMI less than 18.5 are considered as underweight and a person's BMI more than 25 or more than 25 are considered overweight ...
