For elements or compounds with electrons 10 to 18 this trick is really useful

You just gotta remember the bond order of N2 = 3 and it has 14 electrons

now just keep reducing .5 as you go above of 14 and below 14

for eg. a compound having 13 electrons will have bond order 2.5

with 12 electrons bond order will be 2

similarly

bond order for 15 electrons will be 2.5

for 16 electrons = 2

and so on
