The form is

ax²+bx+c=0 where a≠0

So first multiply a and c

a=1 and c=2

2*1=2

so next Check all of 2's multiples..As this is a prime number it only has 1*2 and -2*-1...

so we have -3 as b.. -1-2 also gives -3

so substitute -1 & -2 in place of -3

it means that we have

x² - x - 2x - 2

take x common in the first two terms and -2 common in the next two terms..

then your equation will look something like this

x(x-1) - 2(x-1)

now Group them

(x-1) (x-2)

Thus,

x = 1

x = 2
