The fractional part of the fractional part of a Real is equal to the fractional part of that Real and is not zero unless the Real is equal to an Integer.

Any Real or Rational number, r , can be decomposed into an Integer part, n , and a Fractional part, f , as follows:

n=⌊r⌋ the largest integer less than or equal to r ; and

f=r−n

Thus 0≤f<1 and ⌊f⌋=0 .

A Fraction can, in general, be any rational number and can be greater than one. The fractional part of a fraction may not be equal to the fraction. For example the fractional part of 43 is 13 .

In everyday language "a fraction of something" would typically be between zero and one. And "a fractional part of a fraction" would be "a tiny fraction"
