Period is Total number of shells

Group is the last term if last number is greater than 5 than add 10 if less than 5 let it be same

eg:- 2,8,8 here the period is 3 and group is (8+10)18

snehalbh33: thank you very much.
rehanmirza: np :))
rehanmirza: mark brainlist if this helped u
snehalbh33: but aluminum atomic number is 13 and group is also 13 as u said it doesn't apply in case of aluminum
rehanmirza: thats hw our teacher taught us
rehanmirza: this chp and magnetism r confusing asf
snehalbh33: OK are you also appearing for boards
rehanmirza: yep
rehanmirza: tbh phat rahi hai

HERE IS YOUR ANSWER. . . . .
.
.

IF THE ATOMIC NUMBER IS GIVEN FROM THE ELECTRONIC CONFIGURATION WE CAN FIND THE POSITION OF ELEMENT .
.

FOR EXAMPLE . - CARBON (6)

ELECTRONIC CONFIGURATION (2,4 )

NO . OF VALENCE ELECTRON GIVES THE GROUP NUMBER AND NO. OF SHELLS GIVES PERIODS ..
.

SO IT CORRESPONDS TO GROUP 4
AND PERIOD 2 ..
.

.

HOPE IT HELPS YOU! ! ! ! ! ! !
