s Block -: The superscript over last alphabet(i.e s) is the group no, (Given example: sodium belongs to 1st group since its 3s1 and calcium is grp 2 since its 4s2) .

p Block-: The superscript number over the last alphabet(i.e P) +12

( for Al ..last alphabet is p1 so its grp no is 1+12=13)

d Block -: The superscript over the last(i.e d) alphabet + 2

(For Zn its 10 + 2 = 12)

f Block -: All elements of f block belong to group 3.
