How to find hybridisation for inorganix compounds?

First,

Count the no. Of sigma bonds and and lone pairs in a compound

Then this no. Is equal to the no. Of orbitals present as the hybridised orbitals

For example in IF5 there are 5 sigma bond and 1 lone pair on I atom

So 5+1=6 i.e, 6 hybrid orbitals

Then what u have to do is just assign it name , SP3D2

(1-S orbital 3-P orbitals and 2 D orbitals are hybridised to form SP3D2
