Answer:

When we need to find length of a rectangle we need to divide area by breadth.

Length of a rectangle = Area ÷ breadth.

ℓ = A ÷ b.

Similarly, when we need to find breadth of a rectangle we need to divide area by length.

Breadth of a rectangle = Area ÷ length.

b = A ÷ ℓ

Answer:

Let the length and breadth of the rectangle be l and b respectively.

Perimeter = 2*(l+b) = 36

=> l + b = 18 -(1)

Also, l = b+7 -(2)

So, equation (1) becomes: 2b + 7 = 18

=> 2b = 11

=> b = 5.5

and l = 12.5 by equation (2)

So, the required length is 12.5 cm and breadth is 7.5 cm.
