MEAN (X) = SUM OF OBSERVATIONS/ NUMBER OF OBSERVATIONS

X = SIGMA X / n

For example: find the mean of first 5 prime numbers

Solution: First five prime numbers are 2,3,5,7,11

X= Sigma X /n

OR

MEAN ( X) = Sum of observations/ no. of observations

Mean (X) = 2+3+5+7+11 ÷ 5

= 28 / 5

= 5.6

THEREFORE Mean= 5.6
