Every element is a single atom but every molecule is a no. of elements together which are same. Coming to a compound, no. of atoms combined together but different elements. We can find no. of atoms present in a molecule or compound very easily by observing the number given to it at the right downward side of the element or left side of the compound.
For eg.
In H2, the no. of atoms are 2.
In compounds like HCl, let's see an eg.
4HCl, the no. of compounds are 2. If you want to know the no. of atoms of in each elemnt, you can go through the first procedure I. e. by observing the. number given right downward side of the element( like H2).
Hope this helps you.
