Answer:

In order to calculate the number of moles of any substance present in the sample, we simply divide the given weight of the substance by its molar mass. Where 'n' is the number of moles, 'm' is the given mass and 'M' is the molar mass.

Answer:

No of.moles = Given weight/ molecular or atomic weight

Example : Find the number of moles in 98g of H2so4

solution : given weight = 98

molecular weight of h2so4= 2+64+32=98

98/98= 1 mole

Example 2: moles in 29.25 grams of NaCl

NaCl molecular weight= 23(Na) + 35.5 (cl)

= 58.5

moles= 29.25/58.5

= 0.5 moles
