Answer:

The valency of an atom is equal to the number of electrons in the outer shell if that number is four or less. Otherwise, the valency is equal to eight minus the number of electrons in the outer shell. Once you know the number of electrons, you can easily calculate the valency.

Answer:

read this explanation

Explanation:

to find the valency of a chemical formula  we need to understand that k in a tom structure is always two and the second one will be having many sought of atoms so we need to make it to 8 for every equations so is cutting little is easier then cut it and write the answer as positive , then if it is positive write its opposite

i will give you an example

in this image shown we must take the last line of atoms

now count haw many atoms are there in the last line , so in this line there are 6 atoms so we need 8 atoms

so it is better to gain 8-6=2   2 atoms

because 2 is lesser than 6

so we have learnt that gaining an atom means , the valency would be negative

if we are cutting to get 8 atoms means , the valency would be positive

so valency means the number of atoms that we gain or loose to get 8 atoms is its valency

so in this question its valency is -2 ,

that how we find its answer

I hope you found it helpful
