Ok here is a cool method which I found very useful.

Lets say we want to find √44

Now we must first calculate the nearest perfect square of the number inside the root. Here in my case 49 is the closest perfect square to 44.

Now we must write the number in terms of the perfect square. Here √44 can also be written as √49-5.

Ok now write the result as follows: Write the root of the perfect square first, then copy the sign after the perfect square, now copy the number after the sign and devide it by (2 x The Root of the perfect square)

√49-5 => 7 - 5 ÷ (2×7) = 6.63

This is not very tough. Here is another example:

√39 = √36+3 = 6 + 3 ÷ (2×6) = 6.24
