multiply the 1st term and last

2*1=2 and the middle term is -2

so we have find two numbers which 2 on multiplication and-2 on addition

so the numbers are -1 and -1

-1+(-1)=-2

-1*-1=2

so seperate the eq as 2x^2-1x-1x+1=0

take the 2x common 2x(x-1)-x+1=0

take the 1 common in last two terms

2x(x-1)-1(x-1)=0

now take x-1 common

(x-1)(2x-1)=0

so x-1=0 ,2x-1=0

now x=1 and x=1/2
