Area of a square = side × side

So, if we know the area we can easily find the side by doing the square root of it's area

For example,

if the area is given to us as 16 cm

16 cm = side × side

\sqrt{16}  cm =  side

side = 4 cm

Perimeter of square = 4 × side

So, if we know the area we can take out the side by the above proved method. If we know the side we can take out the perimeter by multiplying it by 4

For example,

Side = 4 cm

Perimeter = 4 × 4 cm

                 = 16 cm

Hope it helps
