✿ A number which is Jordan a perfect square also has a square root. see the following example.

In ABC , l (AB) =2cm, l (BC) =4cm, m<B=90.

⠀⠀⠀⠀By Pythagoras theorem

[ l ( Ac )]^2 = l [( AB)]^2 +l [ ( BC) ]2

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀=2^2 +4^2

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀=4+16

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀=20

Hence, the square of the length of segment AC is 20. It means that the length of seG AC is equal root of 20.

In symbols, l ( AC ) =√20 cm.
