u can make initial guesses like if u want to find the root of 55 you know it is between 7 and 8.the more time u will do it will make u more perfect.

First take the first two digits of the no.( For eg take 88 in 8836)
Now take the nearest root to that no( Here 81)
Now take the square root of this no ( Here 9 )
Now for deciding the second digit see the unit digit of the given no and think which no if squared gets the unit digit of the given no ( Here 4 or 6)
Now you can decide whether the no is 94 or 96
