Answer: For the object accelerating upwards is
T – m1g = m1a
For the object accelerating in a downward direction
m2g – T = m2a
Where; m1 g and m2 g is the net force acting on the objects, respectively.
On adding the above two equations, we get acceleration as
m2g – m1g = m1a + m2a
Rearranging the terms, we get
(m2– m1) g = a (m1+m2)
Since the mass of object 2 is more than object1. m2 is accelerating downward due to gravity, and the m1 is accelerating upward as m2 is pulling m1.
