Solution

for a equilateral triangle ABC all sides are equal ..i,.e., AB=BC=CA=a(let)

now ......to find the altitude of the triangleABC a perpendicular AD is drawn on the base BC which bisects BC at point D

now ...ang(ADB)=ang(ADC)=90°

therefore..

BD=DC=BC/2=a/2

therefore....

from the ADB

altitude=AD

base =BD

hypotenuse=AB

therefore from the Pythagorean theorem

AB²=BD²+AD²

=>=(a/2)²+AD²

= >AD²=-a²/4

=>AD=(3a²/4)

=>AD=a√3/2

Therefore altitude is

=(side×3)/2

Hope this helps you
