Find the linear scale factor or the constant for the increase in length of the sides. Square this ratio and then use the new ratio to find the area.
For eg.
Assume the similar sides are 1cm and 2 cm respectively;
Therefore the linear scale factor is 1:2;
therefore the area scale factor is 1:4.
Considering the area of the smaller triangle to be 10cm2 the area of the larger one (using ratio) is 40cm2
