We know that Calcium, Ca has a charge of +2 whereas Chlorine has a charge of -1.
Every compound has to stable, that is neutral, neither positively nor negatively charged. Hence Calcium Chloride will be formed of Calcium and chlorine in such a way that there is total charge left on the compound.
Hence, to satisfy +2 charge of Calcium, 2 Chlorine (that sums to charge of -2) will be required.
Thus, formula of Calcium Chloride is CaCl2

Every atom needs to complete it's otect by attaining nearest possible noble gas so when Calcium the has valency as 2 and chlorine as 1 so Calcium will require 2 electrons to complete it's octet so chlorine will become cl2 It will also complete it's octet by one electrons from each Calcium so it forms CaCl2
