Let , the equation be --

a {x}^{2} + bx + c = 0
Now, we find the discriminant of this equation.
☞ Discriminant is represent by the symbol "D".

So,

D = b^2 - 4ac
where,
b is the coefficient of x ;
a is the coeficient of x^2;
and c is the constant.

Hope this will help you......
