»for the figure, first make a circle and let the radius 17

make 2 chords of 30cm and 16cm.

»to find the distance between AB and CD

›let NM distance between AB and CD or NO+MO

In ∆BNO

with Pythagoras theorem...

find NO

so, 17^2=8^2+NO^2

NO^2=17^2-8^2

NO^2=225

NO=√225

NO=15cm

similarly, MO=8cm

so, distance between AN and CD=15+8=23cm..... (ans)
