Median is the middle number when all of the observations are arranged in ascending or descending order.

Now coming to your question :

Question :- Find the median of 55, 60, 35, 51, 29, 63, 72, 91, 85, 82.

Solution :-

First we will arrange the given observations in ascending order

Ascending order = 29, 35, 51, 55, 60, 63, 72, 82, 85, 91

Here there are 10 observations

Now, check the middle terms in the new observations

Middle terms are middle numbers of the observation.

In the new observation, there are two middle terms. They are 60 and 63

Now, we will find their median

Median ☛ \dfrac{60 + 63}{2}

\dfrac{123}{2}

☛ 61.5

∴ The median of the given data is \boxed{\boxed{\text{61.5}}}
