Write the numbers in ascending order and take the middle one as meduan this is possible only when no. of numbers is odd if even same but take the two middle numbers and do mean for both of them

Write down numbers in increasing order
Take out 2 numbers from the middle 
And take their average .
for example if the number are:
16,4,12,32,24,28,8,20

Arrange it in ascending order

4,8,12,16,20,24,28,32
Now take two terms from middle i.e 16 and 20
Now taking the average of two numbers we get 16+20/2 = 18
