first u should know the molar masses of the elements and compounds e.g
molecular mass of O2=8×2
O2=16. in which the mass of O is 8

to find out tye molecular mass of any compound just add up the the masses of the element constituting the compound..
ex. H20
mass of hydrogen *2 + mass of oxygen
= 1*2+ 16
2+16
= 18 u..
