14th November is ending date.
Duration is 40 days.
Let us minus 40 from 14
So, 14-40 = -26
Add this '-26' in duration of October that is 31 days.
31-26= 5
So, starting date is 5th of October.

An ongoing and continuous sequence of events that occur in succession, from past through the present, and to the future.

The starting date would be October 6, as the finishing date is November 14 and the time period is 40 days.

You can determine the starting date by subtracting the duration from the ending date because both the finishing date and the time length are known.

The starting date can be established in this example if the time frame is 40 days and the finishing date is November 14th:

The finishing date should be expressed numerically, such as the number of days since a reference date.

November 14th, if taken as the reference date, would be the 319th day of the year (assuming it is not a leap year).

Subtract the duration (in days) from the finishing date's numerical value to get the starting date's value.

The 279th day of the year is in this instance 40 days before to the 319th day of the year.

With the same reference date, change the starting date's numerical value back into a date format.

The 6th of October is the 279th day of the year.

As a result, the starting date would be October 6, as the finishing date is November 14 and the time period is 40 days.
