Answer:

The mass no. Z will tell u about the total no. of protons and neutrons and in a neutral atom, the no. of electrons is equal to no. of protons.

In C-14 isotope,

n + p= 14

e = 6

Total fundamental particles= n + p + e

= 14 + 6

= 20

In the given element c14/6, the fundamental particles are listed below

Atomic mass= A=14

Atomic number=Z=6

Number of electrons=e= 6

Number of protons=p=6

Number of neutrons=n=8

Therefore the total number of fundamental particles in one atom of C14/6 is= No. of electrons+No of protons+ No. of neutrons

=e+p+n

=6+6+8

=20
