How to find the wavelength of sound in hydrogen at ntp is 1328 ms^-1.What will be its value in air ntp if the density of hydrogen is 1\16of that of air?

Where we have :

P = Atmospheric pressure at Ntp which is given as :

Y = Gamma

r = The density of air at NTP.

In this case we have been given all the parameters as follows.

Y = 1.4

r = 1.29 kg/m^3

We do the substitution as follows :

V(air) = {(1.4 × 101325) / (1.29)}^1/2

V(air) = (109965.1163)^1/2

Getting the square root we have :

V(air) = 331.61 m/s
