let the total distance covered while going to college be x
we know that speed = distance /time
so, time = distance /speed
time take to reach college = x/20km per h
time taken to reach home after college = x/30km per h
total distance = x+x=2x
avg speed= 2x/(x/20+x/30). LCM=60
=2x/(3x+2x/60)=2x/(5x/60)=(2x × 60)/5x= 120x/5x=24km/h
