You can find valency by   minus eight to the number of electrons in the outer shell.

The Valence Of Element = No. of valence electrons. But if no. of valence electrons are 1,2,3,4 valence will be 1,2,3,4 repectively. But If the no. of valence electrons are more than 4 Subtract them from 8
For eg.
Valence electrons are 6 then valence will be
8-6=2

Hope U Understand ☺

roman1315: but if the valance will be 8 then?
roman1315: 8-8=0?
Karthikay8020: valence is 0
roman1315: ok
Karthikay8020: sorry valency
roman1315: np
