how to find whether a given sum is asked to find hcf or lcm.pls answer it fast i will mark it as brainliest. no net answers.

Now this trick will work for most of the questions. See whenever some values are given and the value that you have to calculate is bigger than these numbers, then it is a question of LCM.

Similarly, when the value to be calculated is smaller than the given values, then it is a question of HCF.

EXAMPLE OF HCF: What maximum length of thread can be used to exactly measure 450m,200m and 500m. So, here we will calculate HCF as obviously the length of thread needed will be smaller than these values.

EXAMPLE OF LCM: What is the greatest 4 digit number which when divided by 54 and 65 will leave the same remainder as 4? Obviously here the required answer is greater than the given values so we will solve it using LCM.

if the question has highest factor then it is highest common factor (hcf)

if the question has least factor then it is least common factor(lcm)
