it should have been force and "displacement".

So the formula is W=F x s=work done=Force x displacement

another formula-

W=mgh=mass x gravitational acceleration x height we get mgh as F=mg

and displacement is the height

potential energy=mass x gravitational acceleration x height=mgh

Kinetic energy=1/2 mass x velocity²
