how to formulate work and time equations? I am having trouble in making the equations [linear equations in two variables]

tisha33: pls send any example
ploopyman: EDIT: if you need eg to explain: 8 women and 12 men complete a work in 10 days while 6 women and 8 men can complete the same work in 14 days . find the time taken by one man alone and that one woman alone to finish the work.

hi .. First of all if you like my answer ...then mark it as the brainliest answer ..ok so here is your answer

To formulate work and time questions you have to do them in a tabular way ..For Example the question is ( A person does 13 work in 40 days so in how much work he can do in 50 days )

SOLUTION -- WE HAVE TIME ( that is 40 days ) AND WORK ( that is 13 )

so -- TIME = 40 | TIME = 50
WORK = 13 | WORK = x

by cross multiply .....

40 × x = 13×50
40 x = 65
x = 65 × 40
x = 2600 ( Answer )

vishesh221: If you like it so plz mark it as the brainliest
ploopyman: darn site. i dont have mark as brainliest answer button
vishesh221: No problem ....the brainliest answer button will come , when another person also answered the question .....but i hope Now , you came to know that how to these questions properly

You can do it like this.
Example- 3 workers can do a work in 4 days. How many workers can do the same work in 3 days.
Solution-
No. of persons l 3 l x
No. of days l 4 l 3
It is inverse proportion.
3/x = 3/4
3×4 = 3×x
12 = 3x
12/3 = x
4 = x
4 workers can do the same work in 3 days.
