Question:

How to get this shape’s area .

Answer:

Area = 11 cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the down triangle it is of length 5 cm

length of the dotted portion = 3 cm ( 5 - 1 - 1 = 3 )

breadth of the dotted line = 1 cm^2

Therefore the length of the other two rectangles = 4 cm^2

Area of rectangle = length x breadth

area of the upper two rectangles are equal we can find the area by

considering only one rectangle and then add up them both =

length x breadth = 1 * 4 = 4 cm^2

Area of 2 rectangles = 4 + 4 = 8 cm^2

Consider the down rectangle = length x breadth = 3 x 1 = 3

Area of the three rectangle = area of upper 2 rectangles + area of down

rectangle = 8 + 3 = 11 cm^2

Therefore the are of the given figure = 11 cm^2
